HELLAGRO at Freskon 2026: Dual presence in international events for cherries and berries

Freskon2026

HELLAGRO S.A. is actively participating in Freskon 2026, strengthening its presence in the fresh produce sector through its involvement in two major parallel events: the 2nd International Cherry Congress and the Berries Workshop, both organised by FRUTONEA magazine.

In an environment where quality, shelf life and supply chain reliability are critical factors for the commercial success of fresh produce, HELLAGRO focuses on solutions that support every stage of the distribution process — from packaging to final delivery.

Participation in the 2nd International Cherry Congress

HELLAGRO is participating as a sponsor in the 2nd International Cherry Congress, which will take place on Thursday, 23 April 2026, in Thessaloniki, within the framework of Freskon.

During the congress, the company will actively take part in a panel discussion, contributing to the dialogue on maintaining the quality of perishable products, with a focus on proper packaging management and cold chain control.

As part of its presence, HELLAGRO will present two targeted solutions:

  • Lifespan for cherries: modified atmosphere packaging bags designed to slow down the ripening process and preserve freshness, reducing losses during transportation.
  • DeltaTrak® temperature, humidity and location data loggers: precision monitoring tools for continuous tracking of transport and storage conditions, enhancing safety, traceability and compliance with market requirements.

As noted by Mr. Nikos Remediakis, Agricultural Sector Commercial Director at HELLAGRO and speaker at the congress:

“In the fresh produce sector, quality is not determined solely at harvest, but at every stage of the journey to the final destination. Proper packaging and reliable monitoring of environmental conditions are key pillars for maintaining product value and strengthening export performance — especially for products such as cherries, where time and transport conditions are critical.”

Participation in the Berries Workshop

At the same time, HELLAGRO will participate in a panel discussion at the Berries Workshop 25, April a specialised event dedicated to berry crops and their increased requirements in terms of handling and preservation.

Berries are among the most sensitive categories of fresh produce, requiring careful management in terms of packaging, humidity control and stable transport conditions.

In this context, HELLAGRO will present:

  • BERRISYS: a specialised solution designed to maintain the quality and commercial value of blueberries during storage and transportation.

Strengthening the fresh produce value chain

Through its dual presence at Freskon 2026, HELLAGRO reinforces its role as a partner providing integrated solutions for quality management in fresh produce.

From cherries to berries, the right approach to packaging and cold chain control is a key factor in reducing losses, ensuring quality and enhancing competitiveness in international markets.
